An
easy, short road ride from Kangaroo Valley township following the Kangaroo
River towards its source. The outward journey climbs gently through the dairy
farms and patches of thick forest, overlooking this beautiful river, with
spectacular views of the sandstone escarpment above the narrow valley. Once
you reach Upper Kangaroo River settlement, the adventurous with mountain bikes
will be tempted to explore further.

Public
Toilets: Kangaroo Valley (Showgrounds, next to
Ambulance Station).
Shops/facilities/Water: Kangaroo Valley (Showgrounds has
shelter, showers)
Bike Shops, emergency spares: Closest at Bomaderry - see details p.6.
Variations on this route/alternative activities:
*1. The road continues beyond here for approximately 5 km to service the
farms and a flora & fauna reserve
(part
of Budderoo National Park), 4.3 kms from the Hall. It would be impassable
in wet weather (there are two rough, rocky and wet creek crossings before
you get to the Reserve) and a mountain bike is essential even in fine
weather.
